WorldSkills Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of cooperation with WorldSkills Russia

The Association for the development and promotion of working professions, which is the national operator of the WorldSkills International movement in Uzbekistan, and the Union" Young professionals (WorldSkills Russia) " have signed a Memorandum of understanding.

The Memorandum was a continuation of the first stage of successful cooperation between the two countries in order to develop the WorldSkills movement in Uzbekistan. During the first stage, in cooperation with WorldSkills Russia, the following initiatives were implemented: training of teachers-experts of the Monocenter for providing services to the unemployed population "Ishga Marhamat" according to WorldSkills standards, preparation and holding of the First open championship of the Republic of Uzbekistan in working professions, which was attended by experts and students from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Russia. The result of the championship was the approval of the application of the Republic of Uzbekistan to join the international Association WorldSkills International. 

The new bilateral agreement provides for the further expansion of the WorldSkills movement in the country, as well as the implementation of a number of joint projects aimed at improving the quality of vocational training in both the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.

Uzbekistan is a country with a high human resource potential, a large percentage of the young population, so the introduction of a training system based on the best world practices of WorldSkills will improve the professional level of young professionals, as well as employees traveling abroad, – said Alina Doskanova, Director of international activities - Deputy General Director of the Union "WorldSkills Russia".  - The "post-Soviet" economy challenges states to develop local communication systems, energy, medicine, education, security, and nutrition. It will require a large number of highly qualified specialists with a world-class level of competence to build flexible local systems that can be adjusted to the world's systems. Joint development of competence in accordance with world-class standards determines the long-term nature and prospects of further interaction between Russia and Uzbekistan."

In addition to organizing competitions on professional skill development of WorldSkills movement in Uzbekistan includes such key areas as the establishment of a centre of independent evaluation of professional qualifications, the formation of the expert community WorldSkills in Uzbekistan, development and introduction of a system of independent assessment of competence by the method of WorldSkills International with the subsequent issuance of skills certificates, participation in international projects for the development of vocational training,  modernization of professional and educational standards in accordance with the best world practices of WorldSkills, preparation of the national team that will represent the Republic of Uzbekistan at the professional skills championship, which will be held in 2021 in Shanghai. The Memorandum provides for joint preparation with WorldSkills Russia for the mentioned championship, including selection of representatives of the national team, as well as conducting joint preparatory training.
