Practical work carried out in the Sokh district
The Ministry of employment and labor relations is taking a wide range of practical measures to reduce the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic, increase employment and income, and reduce poverty.
On June 2-3 this year, the Minister of employment and labor relations N. Khusanov visited the Sokh district of the Ferghana region and got acquainted with the work being carried out on the spot.
Issues of social support for the temporarily unemployed were discussed: further expansion of their involvement in public works at the expense of the Public works fund, creation of new jobs at the expense of the State employment assistance fund.
The Minister got acquainted with the activities and working conditions of Sokh Namuna LLC, located in the Sarikanda village of Sokh district, and studied the existing problems. Then, he attended professional training courses in sewing and cooking, organized in the gatherings of citizens of the mahallas of Oftobru and Yangiarik.
He also studied the conditions created in the Agricultural vocational college of the district. In accordance with the professional demand in the labor market, proposals were received to organize further foreign language courses in cooperation with employment promotion centers.
The district has set a target program to help a total of 7,187 unemployed people find work and support low-income families by providing them with a real source of income.
In addition, on June 3, N. Khusanov took part in a special meeting of the Sokh district Council of people's deputies.
It should be noted that in March-may of this year, 394 unemployed people had permanent jobs. In March-may, the State employment assistance Fund allocated 127.0 million soums to 47 people for the construction of greenhouses, the purchase of seeds, seedlings and irrigation equipment. The subsidy was paid. In order to reduce poverty through the development of entrepreneurship in the regions, the State employment assistance Fund allocated 1.9 million soums as a subsidy for starting a business to 11 unemployed people in March-may this year.
To provide financial support to the unemployed and temporarily unemployed who cannot travel abroad for the period of quarantine, a procedure for assigning and paying for work was introduced every three days, and in March-may, 70 unemployed people received 40.7 million soums as unemployment benefits.
