Recruitment for ADB "Skills Development for a Modern Economy" project implementation unit is open
The Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan announces the recruitment of employees for the project implementation unit (PIU) in the framework of the project “Skills development for a modern economy”, implemented by the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) loan.
Implementation period: 2021-2027
Total project cost: $163 million
The project aims to enhance the competitiveness of Uzbekistan’s industry sectors and boost inclusive growth by improving market-relevant skills development for youth and unemployed jobseekers. It will develop human resources to work as skilled workforce in five sectors: construction, textiles and garment, information and communication technology, agro-business and food processing, and machinery repair and maintenance.
The project will develop competency-based training for targeted occupations, prepare a team of CBT (competency-based training) specialists and transform six technical and vocational education and training colleges as resource centers for promoting CBT in the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) system, build capacity in public employment service, and upgrade fourteen professional training centers’ capacity to reskill unemployed jobseekers. The project will also intensify industry’s role and engagement in skills development by supporting sector skills councils (SSCs), updating teachers’ professional skills and promoting work-based learning.
