The project “Capacity building in the field of preventing human trafficking in Uzbekistan” was presented
A presentation on the implementation of the project “Capacity building in the field of preventing human trafficking in Uzbekistan”, implemented jointly with the ILO, was held through the online videoconference.
At this meeting, a plan to conduct a research of the activities of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations in the field of combating human trafficking has been presented to the Uzbek side.
This project is aimed at identifying vulnerabilities in the field of external labor migration, in particular in the field of fighting with human trafficking and the application of preventive measures in this direction.
During the meeting, First deputy Minister Erkin Mukhitdinov expressed ministries readiness to conduct a joint study of the Agency's activities on external labor migration, and taking measures aimed on building of Agency's capacity in combating forced labor and human trafficking among labor migrants, based on the summarized recommendations from ILO.
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation on issues related to the social protection of migrant workers, particularly in broadening the volume of services for labor migrants.
