In order to raise awareness among farmers and the cotton cluster about forced and child labor, in accordance with the Roadmap approved on June 17, 2020 at the meeting of the Commission on combating human trafficking and forced labor, online training seminars are being held in the Syrdarya, Tashkent, Bukhara and Navoi regions on the prevention of forced labor and on compliance with labor laws when hiring employees.

Representatives of the International Labour Organization, in particular O.Lipcanu, the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations and local government authorities, with the participation of representatives of the Confederation of Employers, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of Trade Unions, civil society activists, farm managers and cotton textile clusters and employers, provided detailed and clear information on the prevention of forced labor and the procedure for hiring seasonal workers during the cotton harvest.

In strict compliance with the requirements of quarantine measures during online training seminars, participants exchanged views on the prevention of forced labor, and flyers and manuals were distributed among the participants, revealing the basic concepts, types of forced labor and measures to prevent them.

Also, representatives of the Criminal Court, the Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Justice gave comprehensive answers to the participants’ questions about measures of responsibility for forced and child labor.

These events are held in all regions of the Republic.
