The quarantine and restrictions imposed in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic require the temporary suspension of many businesses and organizations in our country. This will increase the likelihood of an increase in the number of unemployed people. In Surkhandarya, work is underway to find a solution to this issue: to ensure employment of the population and prevent a reduction in their income. In order to study this, on May 8 of this year, the first Deputy Minister of employment and labor relations Erkin Mukhitdinov got acquainted with practical events held in the Muzrabat district of the region.

In Yakkatol mahalla of the district a subsidy of 111.5 million soums was allocated at the expense of the State employment assistance fund for the "Taskin Bog" production cooperative with an area of 13 hectares, where 50 unemployed and low-income families are currently employed. E. Mukhitdinov visited here and examined its condition.

In addition, in April, 743 unemployed citizens were involved in paid public work in Muzrabat district and they were paid 440.0 million soums at the expense of the Public works fund. In May, 940 unemployed citizens were involved in public works and paid 707.8 million soums of wages. 59 unemployed citizens were allocated funds for the construction of greenhouses; the purchase of seeds, seedlings and irrigation funds in the amount of 81.9 million soums. In 9 cooperatives on 142.0 hectares, 450 unemployed citizens were attracted.
