Meeting with the Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS and a ceremony of presenting skills passports were held at Monocenter “Ishga Markhamat”

On June 16, 2021, as part of the visit, Mirjana Spolyarich Egger met with First Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations Erkin Mukhitdinov which took place at the Monocenter “Ishga Markhamat”. The meeting was also attended by donors of joint projects of the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations and UNDP, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Yoshinori Fujiyama and Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Uzbekistan Vadim Mitrofanov.

During the meeting, priorities of joint cooperation and results of joint projects of MELR and UNDP "Promotion of Youth Employment in Uzbekistan", as well as the "Adapting population skills to the post-pandemic economy in Ferghana Valley" were discussed.

The event also marked skills passports awarding ceremony to 14 students of the Monocenter “Ishga Markhamat”, confirming the skills and competence of graduates who were trained and independently assessed by national experts in the vocational training programme in accordance with international standards.

During the event, First Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations Erkin Mukhitdinov noted that the new project should fully support the reforms implemented by the Government in the field of vocational training and skills development in  Fergana Valley during the post-pandemic period.

Also, guests of the event had an excursion to the Monocenter “Ishga Markhamat”, as well as a presentation of purchased equipment for assessment of fashion technology, software development and beauty therapy classes within the framework of the joint project of the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations and UNDP "Promotion of Youth Employment in Uzbekistan" with the financial support of the Japanese government.
